The first “fashion” app I found just happens to be from one of my favorite couture houses, Chanel. I haven’t found any other fashion or beauty related applications yet so I believe Chanel is the first one. I am so delighted with the novelty of having this on my phone that I didn’t mind the 60MB download one bit. (Thank goodness for WiFi)
So the App is specific to A/W 2008/09 and puts some very cool exclusive Chanel content at your fingertips. The interface is simple, a quick look into the highlights of the Chanel world. The main image will give you a video of the A/W fashion show and the links/accessories shortcut allows you to browse through all of this season’s looks by swiping through your iPhone or iPod Touch.
Hitting up Chanel News gives you an up-to-date RSS news feed of various news stories. And just in case browsing through these goodies warrants a quick trip to the Chanel store, a store locator allows you to search for store by city and to map the location or call the store.
I can’t wait to see what other fashion companies decide to cater to the iPhone fan base and launch their own applications!

gucci has one, i read about it on a blog somewhere. it’s available only in italy for now

wow, this is crazy! i wish i had had my camera with me last week when i passed the new chanel store on robertson. i guess they’re doing construction, so there were these three SUPER greasy construction workers just resting outside the glamorous store. it was quite the juxtaposition and i wish i had been able to capture it!
