Eat Gummies for Clear Skin

Seems like a catchy enough gimmick right? There was Borba water that clarified skin, Murad vitamins that claimed the same, and now Frutels put all of the action-packed vitamins in a little gummy formula for those of us who fall for these types of gimmicks.

Frutels Vitamin Gummy for Acne

So what’s the catch? They taste so gross, they’re hard to swallow. :( But I like the idea… gummy flavored vitamins. I’d always been tempted to buy a bottle of L’il Critters Gummy Vites at Costco, so I decided to try them. They do not have as high of a concentration as adult vitamins, but hey, some vitamins are better than none right? I tend to avoid huge vitamins anyway because I hate swallowing them.

Anyways, the shocking thing I found when I came home was, they had the same ingredients! Although they were marketed as Acne vitamins, Frutels were nothing more than a multi-vitamin that hoped to regulate your hormones and stress levels. So if you want a much tastier, less gimmicky alternative, I say go with the cute little Gummy Vites. :)

They have the same ingredients? I always thought the acne gummy chews (borba and frutels) had extra ingredients and different concentrations. I don’t plan on trying either, but I -do- love the l’il critters gummy vitamins, they taste great!

My mom swears by those gummy vitamins! She says it makes her skin and hair so soft, and her nails grow stronger than ever.

I checked the label, side by side. Borba has more skin-oriented vitamins, but frutels was almost exactly like taking 3 gummy bears. :)

I just bought these gummy vites for my boys and I found some web sites stating that there is a problem with lead???? Anyone know anything on this???

If not, I just give them to the boys, I am going to start taking them for myself if they do not contain lead.

Hmmm. That’s disturbing. I’m not sure. I did a little bit of research online and I could only find old information… that the bad batch was tested in 2005 but the batch in 2006 was fine…

I went out to buy a bottle of l’il critters today! I do realise however that l’il critters have iodine content which some have said is linked to acne while frutels does not.. So I bought the vitamin C one instead cause Vitamin C is suppose to boost collagen production :) that would help the renewal of cells and the healing of scars at least.. even if they really don’t work, they taste yummy!!

I read the article regarding lead in the L’il Critters Gummy Vites and wanted to let you all know that this is not true. I checked with the manufacturer and they told me about this report on the FDA website: http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/pbvitami.html.
The report lists all sorts of products, both for kids and for women are listed counting L’il Critters Gummy Vites. Out of all the products there, only a few of them have too much lead and L’il Critters in not one of them. It is pretty recent (Aug 2008) and looks quite complete to me. I haven’t heard of most of the products on there, but all the products that I have ever got for my kids (including Disney Gummies, Flintstones and L’il Critters) are on there, too.

that is so funny! i never heard of gummy bears for acne treatment. of course me being a sweet tooth i have vitamin gummy bears. even though they’re for kids I LOVE THEM! sorta get addicted to them. but as for the acne gummy bears. thats hilarious. its a good try, and i could definately see how that would be tempting. but all in all i really dont think they would work. especially if the ingredients are the same!
